Intimate
Nature & Ecology
Fun fact
She painted professionally for over six decades while raising ten children, and out-earned Rembrandt in her lifetime.
How she made it
Oil on dark ground, flowers assembled from individual life studies made across different seasons, bouquets that could never exist at one time. Petals were finished with fine sable glazes and tiny highlights of lead white.
