Fun fact
She hated the erotic readings of her flower paintings, saying critics were 'writing about themselves, not me.'
How she made it
Oil brushed to a near-invisible finish: she sanded grounds smooth, blended with soft brushes and left no visible stroke, so scale and edge do the work. Compositions were cropped from charcoal studies until only the essential curve remained.
